Musée Guimet

This project proposes a modern redesign of the visual identity for the Musée Guimet, France’s National Museum of Asian Arts. The concept reinterprets traditional Asian design elements to create a contemporary yet culturally rooted brand image.

At the core of the identity is a custom logotype, hand-drawn using Chinese ink to evoke the raw, expressive quality of traditional calligraphy. This artisanal approach highlights the museum’s connection to craftsmanship, heritage, and authenticity. The result is a distinctive and elegant identity that honors the museum’s legacy while bringing a fresh, modern perspective.

Color Palette

The logo was developed in eight distinct color variations. The black-and-white version is intended
for general use, while the colored versions are designed to reflect the specific country represented, adding contextual and cultural relevance to the identity system.
